COSECAM is the Coalition of 20 NGOs, aiming to Address (Sexual) Exploitation of Children in Cambodia. It has been awarded a large 3-year European Union fund (2008-2010) to implement the Protection Program of children and youth from trafficking and irregular migration, under a project called “Creating a Legal and Sustainable Environment for Trafficked Human Beings in and from Cambodia” (CETHCam). Now we are seeking for qualified Cambodian Nationals to fill the challenging vacant positions:
1. Advocacy Program Officer – One position
Responsibilities:
- Be responsible in advocacy program development, draft work plan and implement its activities accordingly
- Develop & manage child protection system to ensure that its project objectives are highly achieved
- Follow-up and monitor the progress and achievements of implementation; adjust work plan to ensure that it will be more practical & achievable, if necessary.
- Coordinate and support the exploration & promotion of coordinated approach of child victim assistance.
- Take part in &manage the joint research project activities in the area of child trafficking and exploitation, which can be commissioned by COSECAM or collaborated with other NGOs.
- Prepare program update and annual reports as requested by donors; and having a good skill to be a resource person for some events like meeting, conference or workshop.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Degree in laws or other equivalences
- At least 3 years of working experience in related field, in particular project management.
- Preferred work experience in trafficking and/or human rights issues
- Good skills of coordination, networking and reporting; good team player and able to inspire others
- Good commands of English language both speaking and writing.
- Social maturity with age should be above 30 years old.
- Willing to work in times of stress, odd hours and during weekends and able to undertake occasional travel to provinces.
2. Technical Coordination Unit Coordinator (TCUC) – One position
Responsibilities:
- Assist in setting-up TCU, recruitment of other unit staff, and developing work plans
- Network with international organizations, UN agencies, Government Institutions, and other NGO stakeholders; regarding the framework of National Task Force combating humans trafficking.
- Develop, introduce, execute, monitor and expand the Child Protection System
- Facilitate the consultation with partners, coalition members and other stakeholders
- Draft and execute program policies, procedures, approaches and mechanisms
- Prepare Progress and Annual Reports about the Unit and present achievements relating to the work of CETHCam to others as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor or Master in Development, preferable in social sciences or other equivalences
- Minimum 5 years experience in developing social systems and mechanisms, preferably in child protection.
- Analytical and systematic thinking and skills in problem resolution
- Familiar with working procedures of International Organizations, and United Nations
- Able to lead and inspire a good teamwork; and proficiency in spoken and written English
- Willing to work odd hours and during weekends, and regularly travel to provinces
